Great Lakes Lactation Services, LLC
Guiding Your
Breastfeeding Journey
Welcome to Great Lakes Lactation Services, LLC located here in the great state of Michigan. Nurturing your little one through breastfeeding can be a beautiful bonding experience, but it can also be a frustrating and exhausting experience when you run into unexpected challenges, or it just doesn’t seem to be going quite as you planned. We know today that breastmilk is the optimal food for infants, providing complete nutrition along with immune factors that change to fit their needs as they grow. Both the AAP and WHO recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, and continuing to provide breastmilk after introducing complimentary foods until two years of age. Despite this knowledge, breastfeeding numbers are not where they should be. Lack of support and the never ending amounts of misleading information on social media can contribute to the challenges breastfeeding parents encounter. I am here to help guide you through the rough patches that come your way so that you can have peace of mind and get back to the joy of nurturing and bonding with your baby through providing your breastmilk. I believe everyone deserves access to quality lactation care, and I look forward to helping you reach your breastfeeding goals.

About Me
Welcome to my webpage, my name is Samantha Pente. I am a Board Certified Lactation Consultant and the owner of Great Lakes Lactation Services, LLC. I am also the mother of three wonderful boys. When I struggled with breastfeeding with my first baby I had the opportunity to meet with an IBCLC, and I will forever be grateful I did. She not only helped me with my own breastfeeding struggles, but inspired me in my journey to become a lactation consultant. I completed the Lactation Consultant Program at Henry Ford College which is one of only eleven CAAHEP accredited lactation programs in the world and the only CAAHEP accredited program in Michigan. I have clinical experience working with mothers on birthing units, in outpatient care, and providing prenatal education. I look forward to meeting you and being able to share my knowledge an insights while helping you to reach your breastfeeding goals!
